1995

Mrs. M. Chatterjee : Principal  (March 1995 – November 2008)

Mrs. N. Suri : Vice-Principal   (1995 - 1998)

• Our journey towards excellence continues with Mrs. Manjula Chatterjee at the helm of affairs. Initially she was ably assisted by Mrs. Nishi Suri as Vice Principal.

• March   :     The school added the Commerce section at the ‘Plus One’ level

1997

• 50 years of India’s independence was celebrated with a ‘Hindi Mahotsav’.
• Sporting activities received tremendous encouragement- specially Basketball and Cricket got a boost.
• New life was insisted into the Scouts and Guides movement and so we proudly have many Rashtrapati award winners every year.
• Gulmohur participates and wins laurels in athletics at the district, state and national levels.

1999

• Value Based Education from Std. IV to VI. It is a practical based education where an integrated course follows the method of continuous assessment.
• Music was added in the curriculum and our regular inter-school “Sur Bahar” competitions began.
• Answering to the need of the times computer classes were introduced in the lower classes also.

2000

Mrs. Vijaya Vasudevan : Vice-Principal  (August 2000 – March 2006)

2001

• Participations in national and international level competitions on various subjects are encouraged (e.g. Quanta, Geofest etc.)
• Students are regularly sent on excursion.
• Regular educational trips to Science City and Purulia Science Museum are organized.

2003

• 25 Sept.2003- Exhibition on “Indian Railways” at GHS, marked the completion of 150 years of successful service. Gulmohur joins in spreading the message of “Oil Conservation”, through participation in Annual Competition organized by Indian Oil.   In a debate on-“Alternate Sources of Energy”, school bags the third prize.

2004

• School celebrates its Golden Jubilee.

2007

2008

• Nursery section was added.
• Alumni Association of Gulmohur (AAG) gets a new life with new activities being added. Saplings planted in and around the school, in an effort to promote environmental awareness.

• FLARZ- an inter-school annual extravaganza for Seniors (XI &XII), becomes a regular feature at GHS, from 2008 onwards. It allows students from Jamshedpur schools to showcase their talent through participation in various events.
• The Primary Section and the High School section brought under single administration.

2009

• HORIZON- An intra-school annual event for the Primary Section, is started in 2009. Students display their skills and talents through participation in various activities, celebrating ‘International Year of Astronomy’.

• To help mothers guide their children effectively in studies, Gulmohur starts “Spoken English Classes” for mothers of Class IV to VI students.
• Inauguration of the new Computer Laboratory
• Foundation laid for the extension of the School building.

2010

• 13 January 2010-UKIERI Visit- Teachers from primary school at Wales, UK, visit Gulmohur.  It is an initiative to learn and share the best and innovative methods of teaching.
• “Parents’ Nite”- an annual programme is started from 2009 onwards, in which parents are invited to enjoy the performances by their children.

• HORIZON: Celebrating ‘International Year of Biodiversity’

          Theme       : Aquatic Life – ‘Gulmohur Aquatica’

• Gulmohur re-launches its own website: www.gulmohurschool.com
